Hi Friends! Today I turned 32 years old and felt inspired to share 33 things I am grateful for as I enter my 33rd year (in no particular order):
My health and my physical body
An open and supportive relationship with my family
Taking the risk to venture up to Portland, leading me to (re)meet Jonathan
My relationship with Jonathan
Tabor’s leg wrinkles and the way his front paws pitter patter when he’s pumped about something
Voice notes with Jordan
Friendships, having so many people to love, who fill up all of the parts of myself
Having access to clean fresh water and food
The ability to use my hands and eyes to write this list
Feeling loved
Meeting my friend Allison in Portland
My friend Douglas for enabling me to turn my 6 weeks in Portland into several more months
Being able to sit outside on a weekday morning and have coffee with my brother
That I live in the 21st century, in a place where I can have my own independent career, independent from my spouse (p.s. happy International Women’s Day!)
My great-grandparents choosing to rebuild their lives in the U.S.
This past Sunday when I chose to lay in bed and read
On that note, a bed that feels like a “luxury farmhouse” (thank you, Be Love Farm, for the inspiration)
My home and all of its plants
Sally K, who painted the art on my living room wall
Choosing, and succeeding, to take the day off of work today
Working with people I admire
The yoga class I went to this morning and, more generally, when I am able to get into my body
Having access to transportation and the means to travel
The feeling when you are so wrapped up in a story, you don’t want to put the book down
Learning how to feel the energy in my body
Flowers and trees
Sunsets, sunrises, and the moon
The sea lions in the marina
Amazing cappuccinos/lattes and croissants
The mountains and the feeling at the top
The generosity of people toward one another
A cheese plate with fantastic wine
Transitions and change
…and gratitude for my life experiences, my body, and the people I love is constant. No doubt I have countless more.
Now, a few photos of some of the best moments of my 32nd year (again, in no particular order and this list is not exhaustive)…
I appreciate you all for reading this far. Hopefully this was a welcome interruption in your day. Thank you and I love you.
Happy Birthday Marisa! I love your keen awareness and appreciation of all the wonderful blessings in your life. Wishing you so many more things to be grateful for, that it will take a lifetime to fill all the pages! Can’t wait to have you as part of our family!❤️💕
